Bonita HSBonita High School is located in the small and peaceful city of La Verne nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Bonita was established in 1903 and after having been moved from its original site on Bonita Avenue in 1959, it has come to be located at 3102 "D" Street. Bonita, one of two comprehensive high schools in the Bonita Unified School District, was the original high school for the cities of La Verne and San Dimas. Bonita was recently recognized as a California Distinguished School for its excellence in Academics, Athletics, and the Arts.

Bonita Freshmen Team Up With Villains


To Create Next Rube Goldberg Adventure

 

 

Famous villains of video, movies, and cartoons invade the workings of Rube Goldberg when the Bonita High School Freshmen Core run riot with their giant Rube Goldberg machine on Tuesday, March 2 at 7:00 P.M. in the Student Union. Another presentation will take place on the following morning, March 3, for nearby J. Marion Roynan elementary school children, beginning at 10:00 A.M.This year, the 105 freshmen break into eighteen groups and select a classic video, movie, or cartoon villain to “play out” as they incorporate it into their Rube Goldberg device. Students must create a Rube Goldberg machine utilizing found items and assemble them in ways that utilize at least three simple machines, where the machines move in ways that indicate the action of a particular villain.

CIF Girls Basketball Game on Saturday

The Bonita High School Lady Bearcats vs. Santa Margarita High School CIF Semifinal Basketball game will be on Saturday night (2/27) at 6pm at Tesoro High School.

Bonita High School Playoff Schedule

Congratulations to all our Winter Sports teams on their successful seasons.

Boys Basketball will enter the playoffs as the Miramonte League Champions. They are currently the 8th seeded team in Division 3A and will host Barstow High School (Montview #3) on Wednesday February 17th at 7pm at the BHS Gym.

Girls Basketball finished 2nd in Miramonte league play. They are the 4th seeded team in Division 3A and will host Gabrielino High School (San Gabriel Valley at large) on Thursday February 18th at the BHS Gym.

Girls Soccer finished 2nd in the Miramonte league and will travel to St. Joseph’s High School (Los Padres #2) on Friday February 18th for their first round of Division 4 playoffs.

The Girls Water Polo team concluded play in 4th place in the Miramonte League. They will play their Division 6 Playoff game vs. Perris High School (Sunbelt #3) on the road on Tuesday February 16th. If they win today they will play again on Thursday February 18th at Orange High School (Goldenwest #1).

 Once again, congratulations to all our teams and good luck in the playoffs.
