Bonita High School is located in the small and peaceful city of La Verne nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Bonita was established in 1903 and after having been moved from its original site on Bonita Avenue in 1959, it has come to be located at 3102 "D" Street. Bonita, one of two comprehensive high schools in the Bonita Unified School District, was the original high school for the cities of La Verne and San Dimas. Bonita was recently recognized as a California Distinguished School for its excellence in Academics, Athletics, and the Arts.

Congratulations to ColorGuard
Bonita High School Color Guard took first place at the WGASC Regional AA Finals at Segerstrom High School Saturday! The Color Guard stole the show with the high score of the day with a 90.93 (scores in the 90's in this circuit at this level are almost unheard of) beating out over 30 other guards from all over SoCal.
Parents of 10th Graders - Testing Schedule
Parents of 10th Graders: Your 10th grade student will be participating in the pilot administration of the Common Core Testing from April 22nd to 25th during his/her English class. This will be an excellent opportunity for your child to experience the new testing format that will be in place starting next school year. Our 10th grade students will be taking the math portion of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, also known as the SBAC, starting on Tuesday, April 22nd. We will be on the following block schedule:

BHS Achieves Best HS - Most Challenging Honors
We are very excited to announce that Bonita High School has received two very prestigious honors this spring being named to US News and World Report’s “Best High Schools” and to the Washington Post’s “Most Challenging High Schools” lists. Bonita ranked 1,216 in the nation on the “Best High School” list which places the school in the top 5% of High schools in the country. On the “Most Challenging High Schools” list Bonita ranks 903 which placed us in the top 4% in the nation.
