Academic Intervention and Mentoring (AIM) is a program designed to help students achieve their full academic potential. Tenth through twelfth grade students who are not meeting the criteria are assigned to a 5th period study hall or subject specific intervention, with a well qualified teacher. These students are given additional assistance and time to meet the criteria. Students who meet the academic criteria earn an extended lunch period. Students with extended lunch are able to conference with teachers, make-up missed tests or form study groups with others. Extended lunch also provides an opportunity for 11th and 12th grade students to have lunch off campus. All 9th grade students are assigned to a study hall and there are upper classmen available for tutoring. Eligibility for 10th -12th grade students is re-evaluated every nine weeks by the AIM coordinator and Administration.
Criterion includes:
2.0 GPA with no D’s or F’s or 2.6 GPA with 1 D but no F’s
Proficient or Advanced and the California State Tests or a 5% growth from the previous year’s test
No unsatisfactory citizenship marks |
