Advanced Placement European History is a year long course that is equivalent to an introductory college level class. The course focuses on the history of Europe since 1500. In addition to providing a basic narrative of historical events and movements, students will develop an understanding of the principal themes in modern European history, and the ability to analyze historical evidence and to express that understanding in writing. Students enrolled in this course will be expected to take the Advanced Placement examination given in May that will allow them to receive college credit for the course, if a passing grade is achieved. The course is open to juniors and seniors as a social studies elective.
