Students will get into the Dance for Free on Friday night after the game if they bring a new toy, gift card, or book.

This is for Brianna K's. little sister who is less than 2 years old. She was diagnosed with a type of brain cancer. The whole Bonita Bearcat community wants to rally around and support the family through this fund raiser for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

Plans for the new Bonita High Gymnasium continue to progress through the planning and design phases. We are very excited with what we have seen and anticipate a building that will become the new face of Bonita High. Construction is expected to begin this school year. Below is a rendering of the new gym:

La Verne: One of the Top Ten Towns for Families PDF Print E-mail

Family Circle magazine just published a list of the Top Ten Towns for Families in the nation and La Verne made the list!  The article mentions the accomplishments of some of our students and commends our Freshmen accelerated core program. The strength of our schools was one of the major factors in determining who made the list (Great Schools Ranking of a 9).

PROJECT FULL BELLIES: 11/14/09-12/11/09

A philanthropic project aimed at providing items of need for the homeless living in Los Angeles.

We are asking for donations of the following items:

• bottled water (16.9 oz bottles)

• healthy, individually wrapped snack-food items (granola bars, nutri-grain, crackers, cereal)

• new pairs of gloves and socks for men, women, and children

• toiletry items (travel size/hotel freebies/full size are great: shampoo, bars of soap, hand wipes, feminine products, hand sanitizer, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)

• new or gently used blankets

• new or gently used jackets, sweaters, and other warm clothing items for men, women, and children

• boxes of gallon-sized plastic ziplock bags to hold everything

• monetary donations (checks payable to B.H.S./for: Project Full Bellies

Elena G.: Paw Print Staff Writer

On March 25, 2009, the Student Union was taken over by models. Complete with a runway, the Seams of Spring fashion show took place during lunch and everyone was invited to attend. All of the pieces in the show were designed by Julio H. for his senior project. Students Cassie D. and Kelsey K. also helped to make his designs a reality.
