Volleyball tryouts for incoming freshmen will be held on June 8^th from 10:45am-12:45pm in the BHS gym. All girls trying out MUST have graduated from 8^th grade!!! If school is still in session for your daughter, she will need to try-out on July 2^nd from 3:15-5:15pm. All athletes trying out MUST be cleared by the Athletic Director by June 7^th .

BHS Spirit Teams to Compete in USA Nationals

"A big congratulations to our BHS Spirit Teams who received their bid to compete at USA Nationals. The team also received 1st and 2nd place in their appropriate divisions. Catch them this weekend at the Rancho Santa Margarita competition.

Wrestling Team Update

Our Bonita Bearcat Wrestling Team hosted Rowland High on the 12th in our gym for the second league match. The Varsity posted its second win, beating the Raiders 61-18. Our J.V. team also did well last night by beating Rowland 72-6. Congratulations guys, keep it up and good luck next week.

Our Wrestling Teams had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The Varsity team defeated Diamond Bar in our league opener 38-36 in an exciting match that came down to the last weight class. This is the first time in league that we have beaten Diamond Bar.

Wrestling Beats Saints for Railroad Tie

Congratulations to the wrestling team for winning the annual “Railroad Tie” trophy from San Dimas. The wrestlers stomped the Saints this year on all levels, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Frosh-Soph.

The Varsity score was 64-12 and the J.V. score was 78-6. This was an outstanding performance from all of the team. The wrestling team would like to thank all their supporters and all of the individuals who helped at the match.

Bonita Boys Water Polo 2011 CIF Champs

Congratulations to Coach Ashby and Bonita Boys Water Polo on winning the 2011 CIF Championship. The Bearcats beat Pasadena Poly 5-2 to bring the CIF Championship home to Bonita. It was great to see so many Bearcats in the stands last Wednesday supporting the athletes and outcheering the Poly faithful. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Water Polo this year and congratulations again to the athletes and coaching staff for a terrific season.

Bonita keeps Smudgepot with Victory over San Dimas

Following a week of Back to School Nights, Pep Rallies and Bonfires, the annual Smudge Pot Game was played last night in front of a crowd of an estimated 8,000 at Citrus College. Congratulations toSan Dimas High School for hosting the game at a new venue. It is truly extraordinary when so many Bonita Unified families can come together to celebrate pride in their schools and their community.

Coach Podley led the Bearcats to their second Smudge Pot victory in as many years. Bonita fielded a young team, making the win a sign of promise and potential for the next few years as the football team matures both physically and mentally. Sophomore Tanner D. completed 5 of 14 passes in his first varsity start at quarterback, receiver Garrett H. scored two touchdowns and Cameron G. and Reggie T. ran for a combined 154 yards and three touchdowns. Bonita’s defense stopped San Dimas at their goal line in the first quarter for four straight plays setting up a 30 and 0 run for the Bearcats. As the clock ran down in the 4^th quarter, the standing room only Bonita Faithful celebrated in full force witnessing Principal Ketterling presenting the Smudge Pot to the team captains, giving the players an opportunity to parade it for the team and what appeared to be the entire student body.
